We at the Cedars-Sinai Pediatric IBD Center give children
with IBD and their families a home to call their own:
a place where they feel safe, where they are heard and
well cared for. We teach our young patients that they
can be empowered by this disease. Our goal is to make
sure they are not made to feel different, are not embarrassed,
and, most of all, that they find happiness and hope. Our
team works everyday to make this happen. These families
teach us so much, especially about commitment. Their devotion
to the health and wellness of their children is extraordinary.
They are our inspiration, and our partners, in helping
to make dreams come true.
Today, the number of children afflicted with IBD is growing
faster |
than in any other age group. Children represent more than
25% of all new cases. The effects of IBD are both physical
and psychosocial.
